Events were held on June 9-10 and they were part of the campaign that is aimed at promoting 1xCup and it saw the representatives of the tournament go to visit some very important football organizations.
During the visits, they spoke about the development of grassroots and professional football and also the possibility of further cooperation.
The program of the day also had a presentation of the trophy and commemorative photo sessions.
At 11:00AM, the 1xCup Trophy Tour went to the office of Adeboye Anthony Adeyinka who is the current Special Adviser to the President on Grassroots Sports Development.
Adeboye was full of praises about how organization of the tournament and said he was hopeful that they could strengthen the partnership to not just football but other sports.
At 12pm, the delegation got to the NFF office and the president of the organization, Ibrahim Musa Gusau praised 1xBet for its efforts in developing football in the country and supporting young talents. The NFF president is aware of how important the 1xCup and they are ready to support the tournament.
The final visit of the day was by 2pm and this is where the 1xCup Trophy Tour met with representatives of the Nigeria National League (NNL). George Aluo, the chairman told the delegates that he would support the tournament fully and even attend the final match.
1xCup has collaborated with several of the country’s key sports organizations. The tournament is going to be supporting local teams and communities while also paving the way for players who are promising so they can get into professional sides.
The 1xCup participants that do well actually go on to sign professional contracts and become players.
1xCup continues to strengthen its presence in Nigeria’s footballing community and it has become a launch pad for young footballers.
So far, 343 teams have applied to take part of the tournament and 100 will make the final list. Registration is going to close on June 19 so there’s still chance to get registered.
