Salah was a football player who was raised playing football in his home city and who played with the local youth teams and signed his first professional contract with Al Mokawloon in Egypt. With his good performances, he was transferred to Europe where he debuted with the FC Basel team in Switzerland. He then went to Basel, where he succeeded and he went to Chelsea in England, where he had loan spells at Fiorentina and permanently to AS Roma, Italy.
