Top Choices for Watching Live Football Matches in 2025

Thu, 18th Sep, 2025

I know people just want to watch football and they don’t want to be figuring out fifty apps or waiting for a satellite dish to rotate or dealing with lag and buffering and all that mess.

You know football is fast like if you blink too long you miss a goal and that’s your bet gone.

So I’ll just tell you what I use and what people I know use and maybe you’ll find your own from there too but I’m not ranking them or anything because to be honest it depends on your mood or your country or what your internet is doing that day or whether someone else already logged in on your account.

Fubo

Fubo is honestly a lifesaver if you like the big leagues especially stuff from Europe and it feels like it was made for football heads.

Like the moment you open the app it just knows okay you’re here for La Liga or Serie A or even MLS and the streams are pretty clean like the interface is fine and you get replays too which is useful.

This is perfect so that when you go to the kitchen and come back and someone is screaming already or you missed the red card or something, you can easily replay the games.

But it’s not free though that’s the thing and I don’t know if everyone will pay that but if you do it kind of feels worth it.

Hulu

Then there’s Hulu and I know people think of it like a place for TV shows but if you get the Hulu + Live TV package then yeah you get ESPN and Fox and all those channels that randomly show football sometimes.

Maybe you won’t find a Napoli vs Genoa game on there but Premier League stuff shows up and some MLS games too and it's like a sneaky way to have sports without saying you paid for a sports platform if that makes sense and also you can just watch cartoons or movies after the match.

YouTube TV

YouTube TV is probably one of the best if you’re just lazy and want everything in one spot like you don’t want to learn a new app or figure out weird buttons.

YouTube TV just works like regular YouTube and you can even rewind live football which is weirdly satisfying like you can go back and argue with your friend about whether it was a handball and pause and zoom and then move on but again not free obviously and sometimes I feel like they don’t have all the channels I need but they do have a lot like NBC Sports and ESPN and so on.

ESPN+

I cannot forget ESPN+ and I don’t even know how because they’re doing the most.

Like these guys have Serie A and Bundesliga and they show FA Cup matches and they’re cheap compared to others.

I mean if you’re serious about watching matches and you don’t care about drama or news or lifestyle content but just football then ESPN+ is the most no-nonsense choice but again you need to check if it works in your country or if you need a VPN which is annoying but common now so whatever.

Amazon Prime Video

Amazon Prime Video is a surprise sometimes because they don’t always tell you what they have until the match is already happening and then you see people talking about watching it on Prime and you’re like wait what.

I didn’t know they had Premier League this weekend but yeah during the holidays or midweek fixtures they sometimes grab a bunch of matches and the stream quality is elite.

If you have fast internet and I mean really fast because if your connection is bad then it buffers a lot and you’ll hate it so maybe only use it if you already pay for Prime anyway.

Paramount+

Now Paramount+ is underrated if you love Champions League and also South American stuff like Copa Libertadores because I didn’t even know they had that until someone told me and now it’s the only reason I still have the app on my phone.

Yes, the UI is a bit messy and they hide the matches under menus but once you find them it’s good quality and you get highlights and post-match content too which is great for people like me who love watching managers complain in press conferences.

Pluto TV

People forget Pluto TV and maybe that’s fair because it’s not the first name that comes to mind when you think about watching live football but sometimes they show classic matches or random live stuff that’s happening.

You are just scrolling and boom there’s a Copa del Rey game or something old like Euro 2004 and you start watching and you stay and the fact that it’s free makes it very easy to recommend especially if you’re broke that week but still need your football fix.

Sling TV

Sling TV is another one I keep reinstalling and deleting because I have a love-hate relationship with it like on one hand they offer a lot of sports channels and they’re cheaper than some others and they even let you choose specific packages so you’re not paying for cartoons or cooking channels but on the other hand the layout is confusing and finding a match sometimes feels like scrolling through a PDF and I just wish they made it easier to say “I want Arsenal vs Luton today” and boom it shows up.

Sky Sports

Okay let’s talk about Sky Sports for a second and obviously if you’re in the UK you already know this is the king of football broadcasting.

I mean they don’t just show matches they turn football into a whole movie with commentary and stats and drama and the way they build up to a match feels like you’re about to watch a Marvel movie.

And yeah it’s expensive and maybe region-locked but if you get access to it somehow then it’s one of the best places to watch Premier League and even some Championship stuff too.

DAZN

Last one I’ll mention is DAZN and I think this one gets a lot of hate and love at the same time because in some countries it’s amazing like they show everything from Serie A to UFC to boxing and in others it feels like they have nothing you want but the design is nice and the stream doesn’t lag.

If you’re into betting while watching the game they even show odds sometimes during the match which is crazy but also kind of useful if you know what you’re doing.

Conclusion

Anyway I could go on and talk about BBC iPlayer or CBS or even weird sites like Live Soccer or Tubi and HBO Max but honestly there’s no perfect answer because it depends on what league you want and what country you’re in and how much you’re willing to pay or not pay.

Also whether you like watching on your phone or TV or laptop and even who you’re watching with because sometimes the vibe matters more than the stream quality and also if you’re betting you probably care more about delay than anything else because that 5-second lag can mess you up.
