Woman Hero: The Stories of Women That Changed People’s Lives

Thu, 9th Apr, 2026

Behind many of the lives that move forward and the ones that we see being the best, there is always a woman that is behind the scenes. she could be a mother, she could be a sister, she could be an aunty, she could be a grandmother.

This is the reason and the motivation behind the heart of Woman Hero.

It is a project that is launched by 1xBet to commemorate Women’s Day and celebrate all the women that are helping the people around them.

The project saw some participants come together to share their personal stories which were published on 1xBet’s social media platforms.

They share the things that they have been through in order to inspire others like them.

“At 1xBet, we know that being recognized should show how real human impact is. That is what the Woman Hero is about. We saw that many women have so much impact and it was forged through struggle, loss, uncertainty, and growth,” explained a representative from 1xBet.

Stories that left a mark

Among the stories that won, there were some that were particular moving.

One was dedicated to Justine and it was from an author who said they met under rainfall and it turned his life around.

Meeting Justine was a turning point. He became close to God again and started to enjoy some stability in his life.

She later helped him to launch an agricultural green house and when she died in 2024, he said she was a shining star that brought light into his life.

Another winning story was in honor of a mother who’s called Ma’a Pauline. She was of poor and humble background and used labor and sacrifice to help herself and family. Ma’a Pauline sold vegetables at Mokolo under the sun and rain and she fought every day to keep her family alive.

The defining moment was when her younger son fell ill and she did all she could to make money for the treatment but fell short because the son died. Then the very next day she went back to work so that she could earn money to ensure that surviving son finishes his education.

Another story is about a wife that remained dedicated to her husband despite years of instability and hardship. At a point, he could no longer afford to pay for his studies and his wife and her mother found money to help him.

He finished and still faced long periods of unemployment and about 4 months of pre-trial detention.

During this time, she still supported and visited him with their baby in her arms bringing him food every two days.

Even when he lost his job, she stayed and helped him ease the burden of life.

In his words, she became his fight, his history, and his strength.

Wide reach across the continent

The project received wide acclaim from 1xbet ambassadors. In Cameroon, Woman Hero became a central part of the official press conference with Magasco who showed up with his own mom.

In Congo-Brazzaville, Tidiane Mario talked about the influence and inspiration of women.

In The Gambia and Zambia, Jizzle and Magnate helped carry the message by being participants themselves. This added a personal touch to the campaign and was the reason for a lot of participation from others willing to share their stories.

The project reached many parts of Africa. Woman Hero was held in countries such as:

  1. Cameroon

  2. Congo-Brazzaville

  3. Zambia

  4. The Gambia
